Adventures in Advaita Vedanta, the philosophy and science of spirit. We are one you and I; are you curious why?..

Here is a place to linger, to let your intellect roam. Aatmaavrajanam is being written as a progressive study and, as such, can be read like a book. Anyone arriving at any time can simply start at the very first post and work their way through at their own pace. Please take time to read the info tabs and ensure you don't miss a post, by subscribing to the blog. Interaction is welcomed. Don't be a spectator - be a participator!

There is an established protocol for the transliteration of Sanskrit into English, as demonstrated in the image below.  However, within Blogger, there are limitations.  It is necessary therefore to approximate pronunciation and emphasis in a slightly different manner when typing the anglicised words.

As a general rule on this blog the following will apply;

aa = as in car
ii = as in feet
uu = as in pool
H = the aspiration known as visarga (:)

Exceptions will be where the natural English flow of pronunciation will satisfy.

The differences between the variations on 'd's, 't's, n's, 's's are more difficult and for the purposes of this blog no attempt will be made to note them differently.  For those who wish to grasp the differences, observation of the devanagri typography and then matching to the following chart is your extra challenge (&*>)
